- Fill a glass with ice and add 2 tablespoons ginger base. Top with seltzer and garnish with a slice of ginger.
LEMON-GINGER WATER
This lightly sweetened detox water not only quenches your thirst, it's also loaded with ginger's many health benefits. Adjust the honey and ginger to your tastes. I like to sip this throughout the day, especially during cold and flu season. I sometimes like to add turmeric or a couple pinches of cayenne pepper to the mix.

GINGER LEMON FIZZY
I was looking for a little treat one evening and fresh out of ideas. On a lark, I wandered over to the Weight Watchers UK website and found this zippy beverage idea. Have tried it a few times and this is my revised version of the original. Though the recipe shown here serves two, you can very easily scale this up to serve as many as you like.

Steps:
- For the ginger-honey syrup:
- Combine ginger and ½ cup water in a blender and blend until smooth, about 1 minute. Strain through a fine-mesh strainer into a liquid measuring cup, pressing on solids to extract juice. Pour ½ cup of the ginger juice into a large resealable jar and stir in honey. (If you'd like to tone down the ginger a bit, add additional ¼ cup honey and ¼ cup water.) Seal jar tightly and shake until honey is completely dissolved (or rinse out blender and blend ginger juice and honey together to mix.) Makes enough for 10 cocktails. Syrup will keep 2 weeks in the refrigerator; shake well before using.
- For the cocktail:
- Combine blended Scotch, lemon juice, and Ginger-Honey Syrup in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake until well chilled. Add sparkling wine to a flute glass, then strain cocktail into glass. Gently float smoky Scotch on top of drink. Garnish with lemon twist and candied ginger.

Steps:
- Mix together the lemon juice, ginger juice, salt, sugar, mint leaves, and lemon rind.
- Put about 1/4 cup of the crushed ice into a tall glass, add 1/4 of the lemon-ginger mixture, pour the Sprite over it and serve immediately. Enjoy!
- Ginger Juice:.
- Slice 4 or 5 thin rounds of ginger and simmer in 1/4 cup of water in a small pan for about 5-7 minutes to get a nice gingery flavored juice.
Tips:
- Choose ripe ginger: Look for ginger that is plump, smooth, and free of wrinkles. Avoid ginger that is dry or has a fibrous texture.
- Peel the ginger: Use a sharp knife or vegetable peeler to remove the skin from the ginger. Be careful not to remove too much of the flesh.
- Grate the ginger: Use a fine grater to grate the ginger. You can also use a microplane grater for a finer texture.
- Use fresh lemon juice: Fresh lemon juice is essential for this recipe. Bottled lemon juice will not produce the same flavor.
- Chill the ginger-lemon syrup: Chilling the syrup before using it will help to create a more refreshing drink.
- Serve the drink cold: For the best flavor, serve the drink cold. You can add ice cubes or chill the glasses before serving.
Conclusion:
The Ginger-Lemon Fizzy Drink is a refreshing and healthy drink that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your liking. For a sweeter drink, add more sugar or honey. For a more tart drink, add more lemon juice. You can also add other ingredients, such as mint leaves or cucumber slices, to create a unique flavor.
