Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

3 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger root
1 clove garlic, crushed or to taste
2 teaspoons olive oil
4 (6 ounce) Tilapia fillets
salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Steps:

  • 1. In a shallow glass dish, stir together the honey, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, ginger, garlic and olive oil. Season fish fillets with salt and pepper, and place them into the dish. If the fillets have skin on them, place them skin side down. Cover, and refrigerate for 20 minutes to marinate. 2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove fish from the dish, and reserve marinade. Fry fish for 4 to 6 minutes on each side, turning only once, until fish flakes easily with a fork. Remove fillets to a serving platter and keep warm. 3. Pour reserved marinade into the skillet, and heat over medium heat until the mixture reduces to a glaze consistently. Spoon glaze over fish, and serve immediatel

Tips:

  • Choose firm tilapia fillets. This will help them hold their shape during cooking and prevent them from falling apart.
  • Pat the tilapia fillets dry before cooking. This will help the glaze adhere to the fish.
  • Use a large skillet to cook the tilapia fillets. This will help prevent them from overcrowding and ensure that they cook evenly.
  • Cook the tilapia fillets over medium heat. This will help prevent them from burning.
  • Reduce the glaze until it is slightly thickened. This will help it coat the tilapia fillets evenly and give them a nice shine.
  • Serve the tilapia fillets immediately with your favorite sides.

Conclusion:

Ginger glazed tilapia is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The tilapia fillets are coated in a flavorful ginger glaze and then baked until they are cooked through. The result is a moist and flaky fish that is packed with flavor. This dish can be served with a variety of sides, such as rice, vegetables, or mashed potatoes.
