½ cup water
2 eggs
2 (20 ounce) boxes Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix
1 cup Ghirardelli 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate Baking Chips
1 cup Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Chips
1 cup Ghirardelli Classic White Chips
2 ¼ cups heavy whipping cream
¾ cup light corn syrup

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 325 degrees F. Lightly grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
  • Blend oil, water, and eggs together in a large bowl. Stir in brownie mix until moistened. Divide batter evenly into 3 pans.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 38 to 40 minutes. Cool completely before removing from pans.
  • For Ganache: Place each type of chips into 3 bowls.

FOR THE TORTE:
1 box ghirardelli triple chocolate brownie mix (see photo below)
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
FOR THE CHOCOLATE FUDGE TOPPING:
1 cup ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup whipping cream, unwhipped

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • 2. For Torte: In medium bowl, combine brownie mix, water, oil, and egg until blended. Spoon batter into parchment-lined (bottom only, sides greased) or well greased 9" round cake pan. Bake 45-50 minutes. Cool 10 minutes and invert onto serving plate.
  • 3. For Chocolate Fudge Topping: Place chocolate chips in small bowl. Heat whipping cream to just under boiling and pour over chocolate chips. Stir until chocolate chips have melted and mixture is smooth. Spread warm topping over top and sides of torte. Chill until set. Store in refrigerator.
  • 4. Garnish with fresh raspberries and/or thinned raspberry jam on plate when serving. Left over whipping cream, whipped, and chocolate shavings are always a welcome addition! Enjoy!

2 cups unsifted cake flour
1 3/4 cups sugar
3/4 cup ghirardelli cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine, very soft
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup water
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 ounces ghirardelli semisweet chocolate
4 tablespoons butter
3 cups powdered sugar
& # 8531 cup Hot milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • For the cake:.
  • Heat oven to 350°F Measure the 6 dry ingredients into large mixer bowl. Mix on low 1 minute to combine. Add remaining ingredients, all at once. Mix on medium 1 minute, scraping down bowl, to blend mixture; beat on high for 3 minutes.
  • Spread into 2 parchment lined or greased and lightly floured 9 by 1-1/2" round cake pans.
  • Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes; cool 5 minutes. Remove layers and cool on racks.
  • When completely cool, frost with Chocolate Butter Cream Frosting. See below.
  • For the frosting:
  • In heavy saucepan on low heat, melt broken chocolate with butter, stirring constantly. Beat sugar with milk, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Add melted chocolate and beat until thick enough to spread on cake.
