Time 1h5m

Number Of Ingredients 6

21 oz apple pie filling
20 oz crushed pineapple, in its own juice
1 pkg german chocolate cake mix
1 c melted butter
1 c flaked coconut
1 c chopped pecans

Steps:

  • 1. Dump all ingredients in layers, in order as given, into 9 X 15 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes. Allow cake to cool in pan before serving. Tastes great topped with vanilla ice cream.

Tips:

  • Pick the right pan: Use a 9x13 inch baking pan for the best results. A larger pan will make the cake too thin, and a smaller pan will make it too thick.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing can make the cake tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Use quality chocolate: The chocolate is the star of the show in this cake, so use the best quality chocolate you can find.
  • Don't overcook the cake: The cake is done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Let the cake cool completely before frosting it: This will help the frosting set properly.
  • Serve the cake at room temperature: This will allow the flavors to meld and the cake to reach its full potential.

Conclusion:

German Chocolate Dump Cake is an easy and delicious dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is a great way to use up leftover chocolate, and it is always a hit with family and friends.
