This speedy, savory meal pairs well with a workout. Quinoa is an unexpected source of energizing iron and amino acids, protein's building blocks, to nourish newly toned muscles. Body bonus: Potassium in the grain can help beat bloat.

MYRA'S BASIL CHICKEN STIR FRY
This is easy and my kids love it. I've also made it with cubed pork from cheap pork chops. You can spice this dish up with crushed red pepper flakes. Serve over rice. Don't substitute dried basil, though! It has to be fresh! And though it sounds like a lot of basil, that makes the dish.

If you see Thai basil (also called holy basil) at your market, give it a try. It has pointed leaves and tastes of mint, cinnamon, and licorice.

GARLIC CHICKEN WITH QUINOA
I based this quick and easy stir-fry recipe on a recommendation from Trader Joe's. Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) is a South American grain, lower in carbohydrates and higher in protein and fat than white rice.

Tips:
- Mise en Place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all your ingredients prepped and measured. This will help you stay organized and ensure that your stir-fry comes together quickly.
- Use a Wok or Large Skillet: A wok or large skillet is ideal for stir-frying because it allows you to cook the food quickly and evenly.
- Heat Your Wok or Skillet Properly: Make sure your wok or skillet is nice and hot before adding the oil and ingredients. This will help prevent the food from sticking.
- Add the Ingredients in Order: Add the ingredients to the wok or skillet in the order listed in the recipe. This will help ensure that they cook evenly.
- Stir-Fry Constantly: Stir-fry the ingredients constantly to prevent them from burning or sticking. Use a wooden spoon or spatula to gently toss the ingredients.
- Don't Overcook the Food: Stir-fries are best when the vegetables are still slightly crisp and the meat is cooked through but not dry. Overcooking will make the vegetables mushy and the meat tough.
- Add Sauce or Seasonings at the End: Add any sauce or seasonings towards the end of the cooking process. This will help prevent them from burning.
- Serve Immediately: Stir-fries are best served immediately after cooking. This will ensure that they are hot and fresh.
