Provided by Steve Cylka

Categories     Appetizer

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 head garlic
1 tbsp oil
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup asiago cheese (, flaked or grated)
1/4 cup fresh parsley (, chopped)
1/2 tsp salt

Steps:

  • Use a knife to cut the top off the head of garlic. Place in a small baking dish and drizzle oil on top of all the visible cloves. Cover with lid and bake in a 375F oven for 50-60 minutes. Garlic cloves should be nicely roasted with a caramelized colour. Remove from the oven and cool to room temperature.
  • Use a fork to pull the roasted garlic cloves out of the head.
  • Place the garlic cloves along with the rest of the ingredients into a food processor. Pulse until the dip is smooth and creamy. It may be necessary to stop the processor occasionally to scrape the sides down.

Garlic-Asiago Pull-Apart Bread image

Provided by Food Network Kitchen

Time 3h30m

Yield 8 to 10 servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 pound frozen white bread dough, thawed
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
2 cloves garlic, grated
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Kosher salt and pepper
1 cup grated asiago cheese

Steps:

  • Roll and stretch the dough into a 12-inch square on a lightly floured surface. Combine the butter, parsley, garlic, red pepper flakes and a big pinch each of salt and pepper in a bowl. • Place each stack on its side in a buttered 9-by-5-inch loaf pan. Gently separate the dough layers so the dough fills the pan. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 cup asiago.
  • Cover the loaf loosely with plastic wrap and set aside in a warm place until the dough rises by half its size, 1 to 2 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 350. Bake the loaf until it's browned and cooked through, 40 to 45 minutes (tent with foil if it's browning too quickly). Let cool 15 minutes in the pan, then loosen the edges with a knife. Remove to a plate and let cool 30 minutes.

Provided by Member 610488

Categories     Sauces

Time 12m

Yield 2 cups

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/3 cup butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup cheese, blend (Parmesan, Asiago and Romano)
1/4 teaspoon fresh nutmeg, grated
fresh ground black pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • In a microwave glass bowl, melt butter with garlic in microwave oven for 30 second. Whisk in cream and cheese. Microwave for 30 seconds more.
  • Season with nutmeg and pepper. Whisk again and then pour over your favorite hot veggies or hot pasta.

Tips:

  • Make sure the dough is kneaded well until it is smooth and elastic. This will help the loaves to rise properly and have a good texture.
  • Don't over-proof the dough. If it is proofed for too long, the loaves will become too soft and may collapse.
  • Use fresh garlic and herbs for the best flavor. If you don't have fresh garlic, you can use 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder instead.
  • Be generous with the Asiago cheese. It adds a lot of flavor to the loaves.
  • Bake the loaves until they are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped.
  • Let the loaves cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This will help them to keep their shape.

Conclusion:

These garlic and asiago loaves are a delicious and easy-to-make bread that is perfect for any occasion. They are soft and fluffy on the inside, with a crispy crust and a cheesy, garlicky flavor.
