Yield Serves 4

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 6-ounce can water-packed tuna, drained, flaked
1 large tomato, chopped
1 medium cucumber, peeled, seeded, chopped
1 small red bell pepper, chopped
1/2 cup chopped green onions
2 celery stalks, chopped
4 ounces (about 1 cup) small shell pasta, freshly cooked
6 tablespoons (or more) prepared ranch-style salad dressing
3 tablespoons chopped fresh dill or 1 tablespoon dried dillweed

Steps:

  • Combine first 6 ingredients in large bowl. Mix in pasta. Add dressing and dill and blend well. Season salad to taste with salt and pepper. (Salad can be prepared 2 hours ahead. Cover and refrigerate.) Adjust salad with more dressing if desired and serve.

Tips:

  • Choose the freshest tuna possible. Fresh tuna has a mild, slightly sweet flavor, while canned tuna can be more fishy and strong. If you're using canned tuna, look for tuna that is packed in water, not oil.
  • Use a variety of vegetables. The vegetables in this salad add color, texture, and nutrients. You can use any vegetables you like, but some good options include celery, onion, cucumber, bell pepper, and avocado.
  • Add some herbs. Herbs add flavor and freshness to the salad. Some good options include parsley, dill, basil, and chives.
  • Use a light dressing. A light dressing will help to keep the salad清爽. Some good options include a vinaigrette dressing, a yogurt dressing, or a mayonnaise dressing.
  • Serve the salad immediately. Tuna salad is best served fresh. If you need to make it ahead of time, store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.

Conclusion:

Tuna salad is a classic dish that is easy to make and delicious to eat. It's a great option for lunch or dinner, and it's also a good way to use up leftover tuna. With a few simple ingredients, you can make a tuna salad that is both healthy and satisfying.
