Time 20m

Yield 8-10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 1/2 cups chopped roma tomatoes
1 jalapeno pepper, chopped and seeded
1/3 cup sweet red pepper
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons finely chopped onions
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients.
  • Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • This stays good up to 1 week.

Tips:

  • For the best salsa, use ripe, in-season tomatoes. This will give your salsa the best flavor and texture.
  • If you don't have fresh tomatoes, you can use canned tomatoes. Just be sure to drain them well before using.
  • To make your salsa spicier, add more jalapeños or cayenne pepper. You can also add a pinch of chili powder or cumin for a more complex flavor.
  • If you want a milder salsa, remove the seeds from the jalapeños before dicing them. You can also use a milder variety of pepper, such as a poblano or Anaheim pepper.
  • Be sure to taste your salsa as you make it and adjust the seasonings until it's just the way you like it.
  • Serve your salsa immediately, or store it in the refrigerator for up to a week. Salsa also freezes well, so you can make a big batch and freeze it in small containers for later use.

Conclusion:

Garden tomato salsa is a delicious and versatile condiment that can be used to add flavor to a variety of dishes. It's perfect for tacos, burritos, nachos, and quesadillas. It can also be used as a dip for chips or vegetables. No matter how you choose to use it, garden tomato salsa is sure to be a hit!
