Tips:

  • Chilling the dough: Chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes helps prevent the biscuits from spreading too much in the oven. This results in taller, flakier biscuits.
  • Using cold butter: Cold butter creates pockets of steam in the dough as it bakes, which helps to create light and fluffy biscuits.
  • Use buttermilk: Buttermilk produces a more tender and flavorful biscuit than regular milk.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing the dough will result in tough biscuits. Mix the dough until the ingredients are just combined.
  • Bake the biscuits in a hot oven: A hot oven will help the biscuits to rise quickly and create a crispy exterior.

Conclusion:

Garden biscuits are a delicious and versatile treat that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They are easy to make and can be customized with a variety of different ingredients. Whether you like them plain, cheesy, or loaded with herbs and vegetables, these biscuits are sure to please everyone at the table.
