FUDGY CHOCOLATE DESSERT
Would love to take credit for this great recipe, but it was actually found in Taste of Home New Cake Mix Creations cookbook. The dessert verges on 'decadent!' Preparation time does not include either the time for the cake to cool to room temperature or for the pudding-topped cake to chill in the refrigerator.

Steps:
- Make cake:
- Preheat oven to 325°F with rack in middle. Flip bottom of springform pan so lip is facing down, then lock in place. Butter bottom and side of pan, then dust bottom with flour, knocking out excess.
- Whisk flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Melt chocolate with butter in a 3-quart heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring. Remove from heat and whisk in eggs and water until smooth. Whisk into flour mixture, then whisk in sugar until smooth. Pour into pan and rap on counter to eliminate any air bubbles.
- Bake until cake is just starting to pull away from side of pan and a wooden pick inserted into center comes out clean, 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours.
- Cool cake in pan 20 minutes, then remove side of pan and cool completely, at least 1 hour.
- Make glaze:
- Melt chocolate in a small metal bowl set over simmering water, stirring until smooth. Stir in butter and corn syrup. Cool slightly, then spread just over top of cooled cake.
Tips:
- Use high-quality chocolate. This will make a big difference in the flavor of your dessert. Look for chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 70%.
- Don't overcook the chocolate. Overcooked chocolate will be grainy and dry. Remove it from the heat as soon as it is melted and smooth.
- Let the chocolate cool slightly before adding the other ingredients. This will help to prevent the chocolate from seizing.
- Use a good quality cocoa powder. This will also make a big difference in the flavor of your dessert. Look for a cocoa powder that is dark and has a rich flavor.
- Don't be afraid to experiment. There are many different ways to make a fudgy chocolate dessert. Feel free to adjust the ingredients and cooking times to suit your own taste.
Conclusion:
Fudgy chocolate desserts are a delicious and decadent treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for special occasions or a simple weeknight dessert. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can easily make a fudgy chocolate dessert that will be sure to impress your friends and family.
