Tips:

  • To make the perfect pie crust, use a combination of butter and shortening. This will result in a flaky and tender crust.
  • When rolling out the pie dough, be sure to keep it cold. This will prevent the dough from becoming too sticky and difficult to work with.
  • When baking the pie crust, preheat the oven to the highest temperature possible. This will help to create a crispy crust.
  • If you are using a store-bought pie crust, be sure to prick it all over with a fork before baking. This will help to prevent the crust from puffing up.
  • To make the fudge filling, use a good quality chocolate. This will make a big difference in the flavor of the pie.
  • Be sure to cook the fudge filling until it has reached a temperature of 234 degrees Fahrenheit. This will ensure that the filling is set properly.
  • When adding the walnuts to the pie, be sure to toast them first. This will enhance their flavor.
  • Serve the pie warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
