Yield 60

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 cups white sugar
½ cup cocoa
1 cup milk
4 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Grease an 8x8 inch square baking pan. Set aside.
  • Combine sugar, cocoa and milk in a medium saucepan. Stir to blend, then bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer. Do not stir again.
  • Place candy thermometer in pan and cook until temperature reaches 238 degrees F(114 degrees C). If you are not using a thermometer, then cook until a drop of this mixture in a cup of cold water forms a soft ball. Feel the ball with your fingers to make sure it is the right consistency. It should flatten when pressed between your fingers.
  • Remove from heat. Add butter or margarine and vanilla extract. Beat with a wooden spoon until the fudge loses its sheen. Do not under beat.
  • Pour into prepared pan and let cool. Cut into about 60 squares.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better your fudge slush will be. Use real chocolate, fresh fruit, and full-fat milk or cream.
  • Don't overmix the fudge base: Overmixing will make the fudge slush grainy. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the fudge base before churning: Chilling the fudge base will help it to churn more smoothly and produce a creamier slush.
  • Use a good ice cream maker: A good ice cream maker will churn the fudge base quickly and evenly. This will result in a smooth and creamy slush.
  • Serve the fudge slush immediately: Fudge slush is best enjoyed immediately after it is made. However, you can store it in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

Fudge slush is a delicious and refreshing treat that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With a few simple tips, you can make the perfect fudge slush every time. So next time you are looking for a cool and creamy treat, give fudge slush a try!
