I got this recipe from my sister and I have been making these for over 30 years. They are a soft yummy cookie. If you stuck a bowl of fruit cocktail in front of me I wouldn't eat it but I love these cookies.

Steps:
- 1. cream together white sugars and eggs together, until light
- 2. mix dry ingredients together and add to the creamed mixture
- 3. add fruit cocktail, raisens, and vanilla
- 4. drop by teaspoon full on a greased cookie sheet
- 5. bake at 350 until lightly brown, remove and cool
Tips:
- Use ripe fruit for the best flavor. If your fruit is not ripe, you can ripen it by placing it in a paper bag with an apple or banana.
- Chop the fruit into small pieces so that they will distribute evenly throughout the cookies.
- Drain the fruit cocktail well before adding it to the cookie dough. This will prevent the cookies from being too wet.
- If you don't have any fruit cocktail, you can use a combination of fresh or frozen fruit, such as pineapple, peaches, cherries, and raisins.
- Feel free to add other mix-ins to your cookies, such as nuts, chocolate chips, or coconut.
- Bake the cookies until they are golden brown around the edges. If you overbake them, they will be dry and crumbly.
- Let the cookies cool completely before storing them in an airtight container.
