Tips:

  • Use ripe fruit for the best flavor. If your fruit is not ripe, you can ripen it by placing it in a paper bag with an apple or banana.
  • Chop the fruit into small pieces so that they will distribute evenly throughout the cookies.
  • Drain the fruit cocktail well before adding it to the cookie dough. This will prevent the cookies from being too wet.
  • If you don't have any fruit cocktail, you can use a combination of fresh or frozen fruit, such as pineapple, peaches, cherries, and raisins.
  • Feel free to add other mix-ins to your cookies, such as nuts, chocolate chips, or coconut.
  • Bake the cookies until they are golden brown around the edges. If you overbake them, they will be dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before storing them in an airtight container.
