One of my favorite lunches. I think Dannon's Le Creme yogurt is the closest to the yogurt in McDonald's fruit and yogurt parfait.

Breakfast Yogurt Parfait With Fresh Fruit and Granola image

Quick, easy, tasty, pretty, and healthy too! Enjoy this yummy parfait made with fresh fruit, yogurt, cream, and granola (or muesli) for breakfast/brunch, or as an afternoon snack. Can also be made with dried cranberries in place of the fresh fruit, or you can add some extra nuts or whatever you and your family/friends like. Be creative! P.S. This parfait would be a wonderful presentation layered in a glass ice bucket, -or- in a standard trifle dish if you have a large group for brunch...simply increase the quantities to suit. ENJOY!

Time 5m

Yield 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/2 cup granola cereal (or muesli)
4 ounces yogurt (plain or your favorite flavor)
4 ounces sweetened whipped cream
3 -4 tablespoons mixed fresh fruit (or dried cranberries)
fresh mint leaves, to decorate

Steps:

  • Place the granola (or muesli) in the bottom of a parfait glass, and top with fruit.
  • In a small bowl, stir together equal parts of yogurt and sweetened whipped cream. Spoon atop the parfait.
  • Decorate top with fresh mint or a maraschino cherry, as desired. Enjoy!

Tips:

  • Select ripe, seasonal fruits: Using fresh, ripe fruits will give your parfait the best flavor. Look for fruits that are brightly colored and free of blemishes.
  • Use plain or Greek yogurt: Plain or Greek yogurt is the base of a parfait. It provides a creamy, tangy flavor that complements the sweetness of the fruit.
  • Add granola or nuts for crunch: Granola or nuts add a crunchy texture to the parfait. They also provide a boost of protein and healthy fats.
  • Drizzle with honey or maple syrup: A drizzle of honey or maple syrup adds a touch of sweetness to the parfait. You can also use agave nectar or another natural sweetener.
  • Chill the parfait before serving: Chilling the parfait before serving allows the flavors to meld and the parfait to set. This will make it easier to eat and more enjoyable.

Conclusion:

Fruit and yogurt parfaits are a delicious and healthy breakfast, snack, or dessert. They are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With a variety of fruits, yogurts, and toppings to choose from, there are endless possibilities. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy meal, give a fruit and yogurt parfait a try.
