This is one of my Mom's recipes that she served at all her Holiday parties and is a great make ahead recipe. Prep time does not include freezing time. I'm not sure about the serving size since she always seemed to have plenty for everyone.

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 12oz. cans frozen lemonade
2 6oz. cans frozen orange juice
3/4 c sugar
2 c bourbon, or to taste
5 c water

Steps:

  • 1. Combine all ingredients and mix well to dissolve the juices and sugar. Put in freezer and freeze to slushy stage. Garnish with cherry and orange slice and serve. Serves 20. Mixture remains slushy in freezer for days.

Tips:

  • Use fresh lemon juice: Freshly squeezed lemon juice provides the best flavor for your whiskey sour. If you don't have fresh lemons on hand, you can use bottled lemon juice, but be sure to choose a high-quality brand.
  • Use a good quality whiskey: The whiskey you use will have a big impact on the flavor of your cocktail. Choose a whiskey that you enjoy drinking neat, as this will ensure that it tastes good in a cocktail as well.
  • Don't skimp on the simple syrup: Simple syrup helps to balance out the sourness of the lemon juice and adds a touch of sweetness to the cocktail. Be sure to use enough simple syrup to taste, but don't overdo it, or your cocktail will be too sweet.
  • Chill your glass before serving: Chilling your glass before you serve your whiskey sour will help to keep it cold and refreshing. You can chill your glass by placing it in the freezer for a few minutes before you're ready to use it, or by filling it with ice and letting it sit for a few minutes.
  • Garnish with a lemon twist or cherry: A lemon twist or cherry adds a touch of elegance to your whiskey sour and helps to enhance the flavor of the cocktail. To make a lemon twist, simply cut a thin strip of lemon peel off the lemon and twist it around your finger. To add a cherry, simply place a maraschino cherry in the bottom of the glass.

Conclusion:

The frozen whiskey sour is a classic cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make, refreshing, and delicious. Whether you're enjoying it on a hot summer day or as a nightcap, the frozen whiskey sour is sure to please. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy-to-make cocktail, give the frozen whiskey sour a try.
