1/4 cup mild-flavor (light) molasses
1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 cup butter, softened
3 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons grated orange peel
1/2 teaspoon gluten-free vanilla
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease bottom only of 8- or 9-inch square pan with shortening.
  • In large bowl, beat all cake ingredients with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Spread batter in pan.
