1 tsp vanilla extract

Tips for Making Perfect Frogs (Macaroons):

  • Use high-quality ingredients. This means using real butter, sugar, and eggs. Avoid using margarine, artificial sweeteners, or egg substitutes.
  • Make sure your ingredients are at room temperature before you start baking. This will help the ingredients to combine more easily and will result in a smoother batter.
  • Beat the egg whites until they are stiff peaks. This is important for creating the light and airy texture of the macaroons.
  • Do not overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the batter tough and chewy.
  • Drop the batter onto the prepared baking sheet in small rounds. Use a piping bag or spoon to make the rounds even in size.
  • Bake the macaroons at a low temperature for a long time. This will help to prevent them from browning too much and will result in a chewy interior.
  • Let the macaroons cool completely before filling them. This will help to prevent the filling from making the macaroons soggy.

Conclusion:

Frogs (macaroons) are a delicious and classic French cookie. They are made with a combination of almond flour, sugar, and egg whites. Frogs are typically filled with a buttercream or ganache filling, but they can also be left unfilled. With a little practice, you can easily make perfect frogs at home.
