Provided by japaulson

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 (10-3/4 ounce) can CAMPBELL'S® Cream of Mushroom Soup
3/4 cup milk
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
2 (9-ounces each) packages frozen cut green beans, thawed*
1 1/3 cups FRENCH'S® Original or Cheddar French Fried Onions

Steps:

  • Mix soup, milk and pepper in a 1 1/2 -qt. baking dish. Stir in beans and 2/3 cup Crispy Fried Onions. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes or until hot. Stir. Top with remaining 2/3 cup onions. Bake 5 minutes or until onions are golden. Tips: Look for French's® Crispy Fried Onions in the canned vegetable aisle!

Tips:

  • Fresh is best: Use fresh green beans for the best flavor and texture. If you're using canned green beans, rinse them well and drain them thoroughly before using.
  • Don't overcook the green beans: They should be tender-crisp, not mushy. Cook them for no more than 5 minutes, or until they are bright green and still have a slight crunch.
  • Use a good quality cream of mushroom soup: This is the base of the casserole, so it's important to use a soup that you like the taste of. Look for a soup that is made with real mushrooms and has a creamy, rich flavor.
  • Add some extra flavor: Feel free to add some extra flavor to the casserole with your favorite herbs and spices. Some good options include garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Top with crispy onions: This is the classic topping for green bean casserole, and it adds a delicious crunch and flavor. You can use store-bought crispy onions or make your own by frying thinly sliced onions in a little bit of oil until they are golden brown and crispy.

Conclusion:

French's Green Bean Casserole is a classic side dish that is perfect for potlucks, holiday dinners, and everyday meals. It's easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy side dish, give this recipe a try.
