Pecan Delight Baked French Toast image

Mmmm....mmmm.... good! We used hazelnut creamer and substituted two slices of regular cinnamon bread when we couldn't find thick cut. Naturally, that "forced" us to spread cream cheese on the additional slices too. No complaints!

6 slice thick cinnamon bread
1 pkg honey nut spreadable cream cheese
1 stick butter (1/2 cup)
1 1/2 c brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
8 to 9 eggs
1 pinch salt
1 1/2 c coffee creamer (French vanilla or hazelnut)
3/4 c chopped pecans

Steps:

  • 1. Spray a 13 x 9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • 2. Spread each slice bread with a light layer of cream cheese and place in dish.
  • 3. In a separate bowl, melt butter and brown sugar. Set aside.
  • 4. In another bowl, mix cinnamon, nutmeg, eggs, salt, and creamer. Pour over bread. Top with brown sugar mixture made in step above.
  • 5. Sprinkle pecans over entire dish. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
  • 6. Next morning, leave covered and bake at 350 degrees F for about 45 minutes. Cut into squares and dust with powdered sugar.

This is a change up of a old recipe we called a hole in the wall ,Which was a buttered piece of bread with a hole in the center place a egg in the hole flip and cover with cheese but now made into French toast.

Number Of Ingredients 8

6 medium eggs
1/2 c milk
2 Tbsp imitation vanilla
1 tsp ground cinnamon
4 slice bread
4 slice butter
syrup
2 Tbsp olive oil

Steps:

  • 1. Mix 2 eggs milk vanilla and cinnamon together, dipping each piece of bread into the mixture and using a round biscuit cutter remove the center of each piece of bread after coated with mixture add oil to the pan then place each piece of bread covered with mixture into the pan with center pieces to the side in the pan then place 1 egg into each hole in the bread,
  • 2. When egg has began to set up flip slices of bread over along with center holes, Giving approximately 2 minutes remove from pan.
  • 3. Place one slice of butter on each piece of bread and cover with syrup and enjoy.
