Number Of Ingredients 9

3/4 lb boneless beef sirloin steak
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 medium onion, cut into wedges
10.25 oz cream of broccoli soup
1/4 c water
1 Tbsp soy sauce
2 c broccoli flowerets
hot cooked noodles

Steps:

  • 1. Slice beef across the grain into very thin strips.
  • 2. In skillet, over medium-high heat, in hot oil, cook beef and garlic until beef is browned.
  • 3. Add onion.
  • 4. Cook for 5 minutes stirring often.
  • 5. Stir in soup, water and soy sauce. Heat to boiling.
  • 6. Add broccoli.
  • 7. Reduce to low.
  • 8. Cover, simmer for 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
  • 9. Serve over noodles.
  • 10. TIP: To make slicing easier, freeze beef for 1 hour.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality beef: Opt for flank steak, ribeye steak, or sirloin steak for the best flavor and texture.
  • Tenderize the beef: To make the beef more tender, you can marinate it in a mixture of soy sauce, rice wine, and cornstarch for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Slice the beef thinly against the grain: This will help the beef cook quickly and evenly.
  • Use a hot wok or skillet: This will help the beef sear quickly and prevent it from sticking.
  • Cook the beef in batches: Do not overcrowd the wok or skillet, or the beef will not cook evenly.
  • Add the broccoli at the end of cooking: This will help it retain its鮮嫩 and bright green color.
  • Use a flavorful sauce: The sauce is what really makes this dish shine. Be sure to use a sauce that is packed with flavor, such as the one provided in the recipe.

Conclusion:

Beef and broccoli is a classic Chinese dish that is loved by people of all ages. It is a quick and easy dish to make, and it is also very versatile. You can use different cuts of beef, different vegetables, and different sauces to create your own unique version of this dish. So experiment and have fun!
