We loved this technique! The fish turned out perfectly light and tender, and the added hint of lemon was delicious.

Tips:

  • Select the Right Fish: Choose a fish that is firm and flaky, such as salmon, tilapia, or cod. Avoid delicate fish that might break apart during cooking, like sole or flounder.
  • Use Fresh Herbs and Vegetables: Fresh herbs and vegetables add flavor and color to the dish. Choose herbs that complement the fish, such as dill, parsley, or chives. Use vegetables that cook quickly, such as cherry tomatoes, zucchini, or bell peppers.
  • Season Generously: Don't be afraid to season the fish and vegetables liberally. Salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika are all good choices. You can also add a squeeze of lemon juice or a drizzle of olive oil for extra flavor.
  • Fold the Foil Packets Tightly: Make sure to fold the foil packets tightly so that no steam can escape. This will help the fish and vegetables cook evenly.
  • Cook Over Medium Heat: Cook the foil packets over medium heat so that the fish cooks through without burning. The cooking time will vary depending on the type of fish and the thickness of the fillets.

Conclusion:

Foil envelope fish is a healthy and delicious way to cook fish. It is a versatile dish that can be customized to your liking. With a little planning and preparation, you can create a delicious and satisfying meal that the whole family will enjoy. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy weeknight meal, give foil envelope fish a try.
