FLUFFERBUTTER

Flufferbutter image

I grew up spending summers on the lake and my Granny always made this to have on hand and would slather this onto crackers for us when we came in from a swim. Easy to spread on bread for sandwiches, too.

Provided by ToiCara

Categories     Lunch/Snacks

Time 25m

Yield 1 1/2 quarts

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 1/4 cups hot water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 lbs peanut butter
1 (13 ounce) jar marshmallow cream (or cream)

Steps:

  • Brin the sugar and water to a boil. Let cool. Add vanilla, peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. Mix well. Mixture will be thin so let it sit overnight. Granny never kept this in the fridge, but neither did she keep pickles, jams, or ketchup/mustard in there either, and none of us has died from it yet, but I suppose I am supposed to say "keep refrigerated" just for liablility purposes. So, yeah, do that (if ya want).

THE FLUFFERNUTTER SANDWICH

The Fluffernutter Sandwich image

Do what the Americans do and indulge in an original Fluffernutter sandwich, a rich combination of Marshmallow Fluff and Peanut Butter, between two slices of fresh, thick bread! Now that's what we call a guilty treat!

Provided by marshmallowfluff1

Time 15m

Yield Serves 2

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 eggs
120ml milk
2 slices of white bread
2tbsp peanut butter
2tbsp Vanilla Marshmallow Fluff

Steps:

  • Lightly whisk the eggs in a bowl then stir in the milk.
  • Place the bread slices, one at a time, into the bowl letting slices soak up egg mixture for a few seconds, then carefully turn to coat the other side.
  • Over medium-low heat, heat a frying pan and add the butter. Transfer the bread slices to the pan and cook until golden, turn the slices over and brown on the other side.
  • Remove from the pan and spread one slice with the fluff and spread the other with the peanut butter.
  • Place the slices together and serve.

Tips:

  • Use room temperature ingredients. This will help the butter and peanut butter cream together more smoothly.
  • Don't overbeat the mixture. Overbeating can cause the mixture to become grainy.
  • If the mixture is too thick, add a little milk. This will help to thin it out and make it more spreadable.
  • Fluffernutter can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

Fluffernutter is a delicious and versatile spread that can be used in a variety of ways. It's perfect for sandwiches, toast, muffins, and even ice cream. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make your own Fluffernutter at home. So what are you waiting for? Give it a try today!
