FIRESIDE COFFEE MIX

Fireside Coffee Mix image

One of my great friends made a mug of this for me one winters day. She told me how her family always takes it along on camping trips. I just couldn't leave without the recipe. I have enjoyed making it for my family and now this year I am filling liquid creamer bottles with it, decorating them as snowmen, and passing them out for...

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 c instant cocoa (ovaltine or ghirardelli cocoa with chocolate are my favoites)
2 c instant non dairy creamer, plain (coffeemate not the cheap stuff because you want creamy not just "white")
1 c instant coffee or espresso powder
1 1/2 c granulated sugar
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and store in a well sealed container
  • 2. To make a cup, stir 3 heaping teaspoons into a cup of water. To be quite honest, I use more of the mix per cup than this because I fill my mug up and/or use a cappuccino size mug.
  • 3. This is great on road trips, camping trips, to give as gifts in pretty containers, or just to keep on hand at home all winter long.

Tips:

  • Use Freshly Ground Coffee: Freshly ground coffee beans release more flavor and aroma compared to pre-ground coffee.
  • Choose Good Quality Cocoa Powder: Opt for unsweetened cocoa powder with a rich chocolatey flavor.
  • Adjust Sweetness to Your Preference: Customize the sweetness level by adding more or less sugar or honey.
  • Experiment with Different Spices: Add a pinch of cinnamon, nutmeg, or ginger for a warm and cozy flavor.
  • Make it a Treat: Top your fireside coffee with whipped cream, marshmallows, or chocolate shavings.

Conclusion:

Fireside coffee mix is a delightful beverage that warms the soul on chilly evenings. With its rich coffee flavor, hints of chocolate and spices, and a comforting aroma, it's a perfect drink to sip by the fireplace or share with loved ones. Whether you prefer a classic recipe or one with a unique twist, there's a fireside coffee mix variation to suit every taste.
