6 red peppers, washed
250g (8oz) feta cheese, crumbled
125ml (½ cup) olive oil
2.5ml (½ tsp) ground black pepper
1 red chilli, finely chopped

  • Place the peppers, cheese, oil, black pepper and chilli in a large mixing bowl and stir until well combined.
  • Serve with flatbread and vegetable crudités. Enjoy!

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 yellow or green bell pepper
1-2 fresh green chillies (jalapeño will do)
7 oz feta cheese, cubed
4 Tbsp olive oil
1 lemon - juice of
3-4 Tbsp milk
ground black pepper
chopped parsley for garnish

Steps:

  • 1. Scorch all peppers/chillies by holding over open flame or under broiler until charred all over. Put in paper bag to sweat, then remove as much skin as possible when cool. Slit, discard seeds and stems.
  • 2. Put ingredients in food processor and blend well. Add a little more milk if too thick. Season with black pepper and garnish with parsley. Serve with toast, toasted pita bread or crudités.

Tips:

  • Choose the right chili peppers: The type of chili peppers you use will greatly affect the heat level of the dip. For a milder dip, use mild chili peppers, such as bell peppers or Anaheim peppers. For a spicier dip, use hotter chili peppers, such as serrano peppers or jalapeño peppers. You can also use a combination of different types of chili peppers to achieve your desired heat level.
  • Roast the chili peppers: Roasting the chili peppers brings out their flavor and makes them easier to peel and chop. To roast the chili peppers, place them on a baking sheet and drizzle them with olive oil. Roast the chili peppers in a preheated oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes, or until they are charred and softened.
  • Use fresh ingredients: The fresher the ingredients you use, the better your dip will taste. Look for ripe, flavorful tomatoes, bell peppers, and feta cheese. If you can, use fresh herbs, such as parsley or cilantro.
  • Let the dip chill: After you have made the dip, let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and develop.

Conclusion:

Feta and roast pepper dip with chilies is a delicious and versatile dip that can be enjoyed as an appetizer, snack, or spread. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own personal taste preferences. Whether you like it mild or spicy, this dip is sure to please everyone. Serve with pita bread, chips, or vegetables for a satisfying and flavorful treat.
