FESTIVE LASAGNA
Steps:
- Prepare noodles and drain. Combine sausage, onion and garlic, cook and stir occassionally. Drain. Stir in next seven ingredients, bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20 min. Blend cottage cheese, egg and parsley and salt. Spread thin layer of sauce in bottom of deep 13x9 pan. Layer 1/3 each, noodles, sauce, cheese mix, and mozzarella and parmesan. Repeat and Bake 375 till bubbly about one hour. Let stand 5 min.
Tips:
- Use fresh ingredients: The fresher the ingredients, the better the lasagna will taste. This is especially important for the tomatoes, basil, and cheese.
- Don't overcook the noodles: Lasagna noodles should be cooked al dente, or slightly firm to the bite. If you overcook them, they will become mushy and the lasagna will be less enjoyable to eat.
- Use a variety of cheeses: A combination of different cheeses will give the lasagna a more complex flavor. Some good options include mozzarella, ricotta, parmesan, and provolone.
- Don't skimp on the sauce: The sauce is what brings all the flavors of the lasagna together. Be sure to use a generous amount of sauce, and make sure it is flavorful and well-seasoned.
- Let the lasagna rest before serving: After baking the lasagna, let it rest for at least 10 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the lasagna to set properly.
Conclusion:
Lasagna is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It is a great option for a weeknight meal or a special occasion.
