1/2 pound boneless beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced
2 teaspoons olive oil, divided
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1/2 cup sliced onion
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup beef broth
1/4 cup tomato paste
3 tablespoons sherry or additional beef broth
3/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt, optional
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1-1/2 cups uncooked egg noodles
1/3 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley, optional

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, saute beef in 1 teaspoon oil until no longer pink; drain and set aside. In the same skillet, saute the mushrooms, onion and garlic in remaining oil for 2 minutes or until onion is tender. , Stir in the broth, tomato paste, sherry or additional broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt if desired and pepper; bring to a boil. Return beef to the pan. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 minutes., Meanwhile, cook noodles according to package directions. Combine sour cream and flour; add to the skillet. My Favorite Beef Stroganoff image

This is a combination of several stroganoff recipes. I'm a big fan of recipes that are fairly quick and easy, but taste like they have been cooked for hours. I use left over pot roast for this recipe. This is definitely one of our favorite go to dishes. Hope you enjoy!

1 pkg egg noodles
2 c cooked shredded beef
1 small onion, chopped
8 oz sliced mushrooms
2 Tbsp butter
1/2 c red wine
2 c beef broth
2 c sour cream
1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Bring a large pot of water to boil. Cook noodles according to package directions.
  • 2. Meanwhile, saute mushrooms and onion in butter until golden.Deglaze pan with wine.
  • 3. Add beef, beef broth and 1 cup sour cream. Stir until combined. Let simmer for 20-30 minutes. Stir frequently.
  • 4. Add worcestshire sauce and season with salt and pepper. When done simmering stir in 1 cup sour cream before serving.
