2 cups cranberries
1 cup sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
1-1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
Vanilla ice cream, optional

Steps:

  • Combine apples and cranberries in a greased 11x7-in. baking dish. Sprinkle with sugar and lemon juice. Toss oats, walnuts, butter and sugar; sprinkle over fruit. Bake at 325° for 1 hour or until golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.

Nutrition Facts :

Tips:

  • Use a variety of apples. This will give your crisp a more complex flavor and texture. Some good choices include Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Braeburn.
  • Peel and slice the apples thinly. This will help them to cook evenly.
  • Don't overmix the topping. A few lumps are okay, and they will help to create a crispy texture.
  • Bake the crisp until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown. This usually takes about 45 minutes.
  • Let the crisp cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the topping to set.

Conclusion:

Apple crisp is a classic dessert that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With its sweet and tangy apples, crispy topping, and creamy vanilla ice cream, it's the perfect way to end a meal. So next time you're looking for a delicious and comforting dessert, give this apple crisp recipe a try. You won't be disappointed.
