Tips:

  • To tenderize the eye of round steak, use a meat mallet or a fork to pierce the steak all over before cooking, which helps break down the tough fibers.
  • Marinate the steak for at least 30 minutes before cooking to infuse it with flavor and make it more tender. You can use a variety of marinades, such as a simple mixture of olive oil, garlic, and herbs, or a more complex marinade with ingredients like soy sauce, honey, and ginger.
  • Cook the steak over medium heat to prevent it from becoming tough and dry. Use a meat thermometer to ensure that the steak reaches your desired doneness. For medium-rare, cook the steak to an internal temperature of 135 degrees Fahrenheit; for medium, cook to 145 degrees Fahrenheit; and for medium-well, cook to 155 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving to allow the juices to redistribute throughout the steak, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.
  • Serve the eye of round steak with a variety of sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a simple salad.
