½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon cornstarch
½ teaspoon salt
7 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup mini chocolate chips
1 ½ cups toffee bits

Steps:

  • Whisk together the flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt until well combined. Set aside.

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are just beginning to brown.
  • Allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the pan, then transfer to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.

  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Line the baking sheet with parchment paper. This will prevent the cookies from sticking to the pan and make them easier to remove.
  • Bake the cookies until they are golden brown around the edges. This will ensure that they are cooked through but still soft and chewy in the center.
