Tips:

  • Choose the Right Potatoes: Yukon Gold or russet potatoes are ideal for this recipe due to their dense texture and ability to hold their shape during cooking.
  • Boil the Potatoes Properly: To prevent the potatoes from breaking apart, boil them in salted water until they are tender but still slightly firm. Avoid overcooking, as this can make them mushy.
  • Use a Cast Iron Skillet: A cast iron skillet provides excellent heat retention and even cooking, resulting in perfectly crispy potatoes.
  • Don't Crowd the Potatoes: Avoid overcrowding the skillet with potatoes or they will not cook evenly. Cook them in batches if necessary.
  • Season Generously: Season the potatoes liberally with salt, pepper, and garlic powder to enhance their flavor.
  • Cook Until Golden Brown: Cook the potatoes until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides, ensuring that they are cooked through.
  • Serve Hot: Serve the potatoes immediately while they are hot and crispy for the best experience.
