AUTHENTIC EGYPTIAN RED LENTIL SOUP
This soup is considered to be a tradition for breaking the Ramadan fast in Egypt and is a traditional "Middle Eastern peace recipe". I got this from a Middle Eastern living blog and decided to share it since I was looking for red lentil recipes. Red lentils can be found in Indian and Middle Eastern grocery stores. This awesome soup is vegan and quite healthy.

Tips:
- Use good quality lentils. The better the quality of the lentils, the better the soup will be. Look for lentils that are plump and free of debris.
- Rinse the lentils before cooking. This will help to remove any dirt or debris that may be on the lentils.
- Don't overcook the lentils. Lentils should be cooked until they are tender but still hold their shape. Overcooked lentils will become mushy and lose their flavor.
- Use a variety of spices. Egyptian red lentil soup is typically made with a variety of spices, including cumin, coriander, paprika, and chili powder. Feel free to adjust the amount of spices to your own taste.
- Add vegetables. Vegetables add flavor and nutrition to the soup. Common vegetables used in Egyptian red lentil soup include carrots, celery, onions, and tomatoes.
- Serve with a side of bread or rice. Egyptian red lentil soup is often served with a side of bread or rice. This helps to soak up the flavorful broth.
Conclusion:
Egyptian red lentil soup is a delicious and healthy meal that is perfect for a cold day. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you are looking for a hearty and flavorful soup, give Egyptian red lentil soup a try. You won't be disappointed!
