Tips:

  • Use Hard-Boiled Eggs: Freshly boiled eggs work best for egg salad. Hard-boil your eggs for 10-12 minutes for a firm yolk.
  • Cool Eggs Thoroughly: After boiling, immediately transfer the eggs to an ice bath to stop the cooking process and prevent a greenish ring around the yolk.
  • Use High-Quality Mayonnaise: Opt for a flavorful, thick mayonnaise to enhance the egg salad's richness and creaminess.
  • Add Aromatics: Incorporate aromatic ingredients like finely chopped onion, celery, and dill pickles for added texture and flavor.
  • Season Generously: Don't be afraid to season your egg salad well with salt, pepper, and a touch of mustard for a balanced taste.
  • Chill Before Serving: Allow the egg salad to chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld and develop.

Conclusion:

Egg salad with dill is a classic dish that is both delicious and versatile. With its creamy texture, savory flavors, and the refreshing addition of dill, it makes for a satisfying meal or snack. Whether you enjoy it on a sandwich, as a dip with crackers, or as a filling for deviled eggs, egg salad is a crowd-pleaser that is easy to prepare and customize to your liking.
