TEXAS RICE

It is not known where this recipe originated, but it has been used as a hot dish on outings and potlucks for at least 30 years. Rice and ground beef in tomato sauce, baked under a layer of shredded cheese. A great way to feed several with hamburger, and easy to keep on hand ingredients. Leftovers can be made into quick roll-ups by microwaving in a tortilla.

Tips:

  • To make the best Texas rice, use high-quality ingredients. This means using long-grain white rice, such as jasmine or basmati, and using a flavorful beef broth.
  • Be sure to rinse the rice before cooking it. This will help to remove any starch and make the rice less sticky.
  • Do not overcook the rice. Overcooked rice will be mushy and bland.
  • Fluff the rice with a fork before serving. This will help to separate the grains and make the rice light and fluffy.
  • Season the rice to taste. You can add salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, or any other spices that you like.
  • Serve the rice with your favorite main course, such as grilled chicken, fish, or steak.

Conclusion:
