Provided by Little Frenchy

Categories     Meat and Poultry Recipes     Beef     Steaks     Rib-Eye Steak Recipes

Time 4h30m

Yield 2

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 (8 ounce) boneless rib-eye steaks
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 pinch garlic powder, or to taste
1 pinch Montreal steak seasoning, or to taste
⅓ cup extra virgin olive oil
⅓ cup Worcestershire sauce
⅓ cup soy sauce
⅓ cup balsamic vinegar
3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 dash liquid smoke flavoring

Steps:

  • Place steaks in a flat baking dish or container. Cut slits at 1-inch intervals in the fat around the edges of the steaks. Gently pierce both sides of each steak a few times with a fork.
  • Sprinkle each steak with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Montreal steak seasoning. Pat seasonings into steaks.
  • Whisk olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic, and liquid smoke together in a bowl. Pour marinade over steaks to coat. Cover container or baking dish with plastic wrap and marinate steaks in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Turn steaks over and marinate for another 2 hours.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
  • Cook the steaks on the preheated grill until they start to firm, and are reddish-pink and juicy in the center, 8 to 10 minutes per side for medium-rare. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 130 degrees F (54 degrees C).

EASY WHISKEY STEAK MARINADE

Categories     Condiment/Spread     Beef     Marinate     Low Carb     Quick & Easy     Low Sodium     Father's Day     Backyard BBQ     Dinner     Lunch     Buffet     Stuffing/Dressing     Fall     Winter     Grill/Barbecue     Potluck

Yield 2 steaks

Number Of Ingredients 2

1 part balsamic vinegar
1 part whiskey (I use Jack Daniels but any whiskey will do)

Steps:

  • Mix ingredients together, add to zip-lock bag with steak and ensure all is rubbed in/covered. Leave to marinate in the fridge for at least 30 mins and up to 3 hours. Bring to room temperature (in zip-lock bag/marinade) before grilling. I also like to add a little vegetable oil to the marinade, to cover the steaks in, prior to grilling rather than adding oil to the griddle. Salt & pepper once grilled/served.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality steak. The better the steak, the better the marinade will taste. Look for steaks that are well-marbled and have a good amount of fat.
  • Use a flavorful marinade. There are many different marinade recipes out there, so feel free to experiment until you find one that you like. Some popular ingredients to include in a steak marinade are olive oil, red wine, soy sauce, garlic, and herbs.
  • Let the steak marinate for at least 30 minutes, but no longer than 24 hours. This will give the marinade time to penetrate the steak and flavor it all the way through. If you marinate the steak for too long, it can become tough.
  • Bring the steak to room temperature before cooking. This will help the steak cook more evenly.
  • Cook the steak over high heat. This will help to sear the outside of the steak and keep it juicy on the inside.
  • Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the steak and make it more tender.

Conclusion:

With these tips, you'll be able to create a delicious steak marinade that will enhance the flavor of your steak and make it an unforgettable meal. So next time you're grilling or cooking a steak, be sure to try one of these marinades.
