Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before starting, ensure all ingredients are measured, prepped, and ready. Mise en place (French for "put in place") is key to efficient baking.
  • Room Temperature Ingredients: Bring cold ingredients like eggs and butter to room temperature for better blending and a smoother texture.
  • Properly Measure Flour: Use a kitchen scale for precise flour measurement. If using cups, spoon flour into measuring cup and level with a knife.
  • Do Not Overmix: Overmixing can result in a tough coffee cake. Mix until just combined to maintain a tender crumb.
  • Use Fresh Coffee: The flavor of your coffee cake depends on the coffee used. Opt for freshly brewed, quality coffee for optimal taste.
  • Coffee Glaze Consistency: Adjust the milk in the coffee glaze to achieve your desired consistency. Add more milk for a thinner glaze or less for a thicker one.
  • Cinnamon Swirl: For a more pronounced cinnamon swirl, use a flavorful cinnamon sugar mixture. You can also add a dash of nutmeg or ginger for added spice.
  • Baking Time: Keep an eye on the coffee cake during baking. Insert a toothpick into the center; if it comes out clean, the cake is done.

Conclusion:

With its moist crumb, sweet and nutty flavor, and delightful coffee glaze, this Starbucks coffee cake is sure to become a favorite. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as an afternoon treat, this coffee cake is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser.
