EASY CHEDDAR SPINACH AND MUSHROOM PIE WITH PUFF PASTRY CRUST

Easy Cheddar Spinach and Mushroom Pie With Puff Pastry Crust image

This is a perfect luncheon dish! You will need a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate, I used fresh sliced mushrooms in place of canned that I sauteed firstly when I made this, and I also added in a small chopped red bell pepper but that is optional. If you use more than 1 cup sauteed fresh mushrooms I suggest to use a 10-inch pie plate instead of 9-inch and roll the puff pastry out a little larger.

Tips:

  • Use fresh spinach: Fresh spinach has a more vibrant flavor and color than frozen spinach. If you must use frozen spinach, be sure to thaw it completely and squeeze out any excess water before using.
  • Chop the spinach finely: This will help it to cook evenly and distribute its flavor throughout the pie.
  • Use a good quality feta cheese: Feta cheese is a key ingredient in this pie, so it's important to use a good quality cheese that has a sharp, tangy flavor.
  • Don't overcook the pie: The pie is done when the crust is golden brown and the filling is set. Overcooking the pie will make the crust tough and the filling dry.
  • Let the pie cool before slicing: This will help to prevent the filling from running out of the pie.

Conclusion:

Spinach pie is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With its combination of fresh spinach, tangy feta cheese, and flaky phyllo dough, spinach pie is a surefire hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give spinach pie a try. You won't be disappointed!
