Tips:

  • Use fresh shrimp: Fresh shrimp have a sweeter, more delicate flavor than frozen shrimp. If you're using frozen shrimp, thaw them in the refrigerator overnight or under cold running water for 30 minutes.
  • Cook the shrimp properly: Shrimp are very easy to overcook, which makes them tough and rubbery. Cook them just until they turn pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Use good quality Alfredo sauce: The Alfredo sauce is the key to this dish, so use a good quality sauce that you enjoy. You can make your own Alfredo sauce from scratch or use a store-bought sauce.
  • Add broccoli at the end of cooking: Broccoli takes less time to cook than shrimp, so add it to the sauce towards the end of cooking. This will help to prevent it from becoming overcooked.
  • Serve immediately: Shrimp Alfredo is best served immediately after it's made. The pasta will start to absorb the sauce and become mushy if it sits for too long.

Conclusion:

Shrimp Alfredo with broccoli is a quick and easy weeknight meal that's perfect for busy families. It's also a great way to get your kids to eat their vegetables. The creamy Alfredo sauce is delicious and the shrimp and broccoli add a nice balance of flavor and texture. This dish is sure to be a hit with the whole family.
