I love when you can make a meal and it is one: easy and two: has both the meat and potaoes cooked together so you use just one pot and all I need is a veggie or a slice of great bread! Makes life so simple! I found this recipe on: backporchgourmet.com. Easy and yummy! Bake time depends on the size of the chicken and potato...

Categories     Chicken

Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 - 6 small potatoes
2 chicken breasts, cut in half
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 pouch dry onion soup mix
1 c water

Steps:

  • 1. Peel and Cut potatoes in quarters and lay in a 10 inch Dutch oven. Add 1/2 the onion soup. Add chicken breasts on top. Sprinkle remaining soup mix on top. Add cream of mushroom soup on top and add water. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes.

Tips:

- Choose the right potatoes: For the best results, use starchy potatoes like Russet or Yukon Gold. These potatoes will hold their shape well and become fluffy when baked. - Cut the potatoes evenly: This will ensure that they cook evenly. If the potatoes are cut too thick, they may not cook through in the center. - Preheat the oven: This helps the potatoes crisp up on the outside and become fluffy on the inside. - Use a hot oven: A high oven temperature will help the potatoes brown and crisp up. - Add some flavor: Season the potatoes with salt, pepper, and other herbs and spices to taste. You can also add cheese, bacon, or other toppings. - Toss the potatoes with melted butter: This will help them crisp up and brown. - Bake the potatoes until they are tender: The potatoes are done baking when they are tender when pierced with a fork. - Let the potatoes rest: After baking, let the potatoes rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help them firm up.

Conclusion:

This easy potato bake is a delicious and versatile dish that can be served as a main course or a side dish. It is perfect for a weeknight meal or a special occasion. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a delicious and satisfying dish that everyone will enjoy.
