Tips:

  • Use fresh basil for the best flavor. If you don't have fresh basil, you can use 1/4 cup dried basil.
  • To make the pesto ahead of time, simply combine all of the ingredients in a food processor or blender and pulse until smooth. Store the pesto in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • You can use any type of hummus you like for this recipe. However, I recommend using a plain hummus so that the pesto flavor can really shine through.
  • If you don't have pine nuts, you can substitute walnuts or almonds.
  • Serve the pesto hummus with pita bread, crackers, or vegetables.

Conclusion:

This easy pesto hummus recipe is a delicious and versatile appetizer or snack. It's perfect for parties, picnics, or potlucks. The pesto adds a bright and herbaceous flavor to the hummus, and the pine nuts add a nice crunch. You can also get creative with your toppings. Try adding some crumbled feta cheese, chopped tomatoes, or even a drizzle of hot honey. No matter how you serve it, this pesto hummus is sure to be a hit!
