QUICK AND EASY BEER BREAD

Quick and Easy Beer Bread image

This recipe was given to me by an Irish friend whom I met when we were living in Germany (the Irish and German factor explains the 'beer' ingredient). Very quick and easy to make - just mix the ingredients and put straight in the oven. My friend noted that dark beer works best. I like to sprinkle white and black sesame seeds on the bread, as it gives it that extra taste.

EASY BEER BREAD

Easy Beer Bread image

An awesome tasting and super simple recipe for beer bread. Mixes in one bowl and makes a lovely rustic and flavorful bread. So far I've only used lighter beer (Blue Moon Belgian White specifically) but am definitely going to be experimenting more with other types of beer (especially Guinness), as well as herb combinations. There's no need to let this mix rise either, perfect for when you're in a bit of time pinch. This recipe makes one standard sized loaf.

EASY PEASY BEER BREAD

Easy Peasy Beer Bread image

This has to be the easiest bread in the world to make. Three ingredients (+ a little butter) THAT'S IT!! It is wonderful. You can change the flavor by using different beers. The Sam Adams seasonal beers work well!

Time 55m

Number Of Ingredients 4

3 c bisquick baking mix
1 bottle beer (your choice, ( i like killian's or sam adams)
1/2 c sugar (you can add 3/4 for darker beer)
2 Tbsp melted butter

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, mix the Bisquick and the sugar.
  • 2. Then add the beer, I find it works better if the beer is room temperature. Mix gently to form the batter , but DO NOT OVER MIX. It may look a little lumpy but that's okay.
  • 3. Pour into a 9 X 3 loaf pan, then pour the butter down the center of the loaf
  • 4. Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 50 minutes. Check anywhere from 45 - 60 minutes since ovens vary
  • 5. Take it out of the oven and let it sit about an hour before cutting. You can eat it right away but it may crumble a little. By letting it sit for a while you will get nice slices. We love it with stew or chili or plain with butter and jam.

Tips:

  • Use a good quality beer. The flavor of the beer will come through in the bread, so it's important to choose a beer that you enjoy drinking.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the bread tough. Just mix until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the bread in a hot oven. This will help to create a crispy crust.
  • Let the bread cool slightly before slicing. This will help to prevent the bread from crumbling.
  • Serve the bread warm or at room temperature. Beer bread is best enjoyed when it's fresh.

Conclusion:

Beer bread is a quick and easy bread to make, and it's perfect for any occasion. It's great for sandwiches, toast, or just eating on its own. With its slightly sweet and malty flavor, beer bread is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
