EASY FROZEN PEANUT BUTTER RICE KRISPIE TREAT BARS

Easy Frozen Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treat Bars image

This is in no way anywhere near healthy. I've never actually eaten this except for a few bites to make sure it tastes okay. I was trying to make a last minute dessert as part of an anniversary gift. I make really good peanut butter bon bons but I haven't in years so I looked up a recipe and made it all wrong. I did not even have powdered sugar and attempted to whiz it through my food processor. Did not work. Television has lied to me. Haha. Anyways, so after that mess up, I threw everything into a pan and froze it for any hour and it ended up being my lovermans favorite dessert that I made. Go figure. I didn't use measurements while making this. I've made it twice and both times came out pretty good.

EASY PEANUT BUTTER BARS

Categories     Nut

Yield 32 bars

Number Of Ingredients 9

Nonstick cooking spray or shortening
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup cooking oil
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1-1/2 cups self-rising flour*
3/4 cup peanut butter-flavored pieces
1/2 cup coarsely chopped peanuts

Steps:

  • 1 Preheat the oven to 350 degree F. Lightly coat 13x9x2-inch baking pan with cooking spray or grease with some shortening. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl beat together the brown sugar, peanut butter, cooking oil, and eggs until well blended. 2 Beat in milk, then beat in flour until well combined. Spread into a prepared pan. 3 Sprinkle peanut-butter-flavored pieces and peanuts atop. Bake in 350 degree F oven 20 to 25 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars. Makes 32 bars. 4 *Note: We used self-rising flour because it saves measuring additional ingredients. If you don't keep it on hand, substitute a mixture of 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.

Tips:

  • Use creamy peanut butter for a smooth and rich texture.
  • If you don't have a 9x13 inch baking pan, you can use a 13x9 inch pan, but the bars will be thinner.
  • For a thicker bar, double the recipe and use a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Be careful not to overbake the bars, as they will continue to firm up as they cool.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting them into squares.
  • For a fun twist, try adding a layer of chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the bars before baking.
  • Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

These easy peanut butter bars are a delicious and satisfying treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for potlucks, bake sales, or as a quick and easy snack. With their simple ingredients and easy-to-follow instructions, these bars are sure to become a favorite in your kitchen.
