THE LADY AND SONS EASY PEACH COBBLER ( PAULA DEEN )
It was an instant hit on the first day Paula Deen offered this dessert at The Lady & Sons, and remains so today. This delicious cobbler can be found on their dessert trays at both lunch and dinnertime. It's so easy to make you won't believe it! COOKS NOTES: If they are available by all means use fresh peaches. In a saucepan, mix two cups fresh peach slices with one cup sugar and one cup water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. An almost equally good product is frozen peach slices. Simply follow the instructions for the fresh peach slices. NOTE: This is an adopted (late in 2006) recipe and there was already some discussion about the amount of butter necessary in reviews made previous to my inheriting this recipe: Now that I have made it myself, I can say that for me at least, 60 grams (1/4 cup) of butter was fine, (by all means use a little less if you prefer) and my dumplings didn't turn out doughy at all... what I DID mess up was using a larger can of peaches (non-metric sizes of canned fruit don't translate perfectly into metric ones), so I thought that the extra wouldn't matter much, mine was swimming rather a lot in the juice at the bottom and next time I will use all the peaches but only half or 3/4 of the juice from my metric sized can.. Taste was excellent and guests devoured it. I'm delighted to have inherited this recipe, so to both Paula Deen and the previous Zaar owner: Thanks for an excellent recipe !!!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Place butter in oven in a 2-quart baking dish to melt.
- Stir sugar and flour together and mix well. Slowly add milk and continue to stir to prevent the batter from lumping.
- Being careful not to burn yourself, remove hot baking dish containing melted butter from oven; pour batter directly over butter in baking dish (DO NOT STIR).
- Spoon fruit on top of batter, then gently pour syrup on top (DO NOT STIR). Sprinkle with cinnamon, if using. The most important part of this dish is not stirring the mixture.
- Bake for 30 to 45 minutes or until golden brown. Your batter will rise above your fruit, producing the most wonderful of crusts. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream.

SLOW COOKER EASY PEACH COBBLER
Delightfully sweet and rich. The crust is buttery with bits of crumbly bits on the top and the peaches are super juicy and bursting with flavor. It reminds me of the dump cake-version of peach cobbler that we would enjoy after long days on the lake in the summer. Serve warm, topped with cold vanilla ice cream.

This is a quick but company-worthy cobbler. So simple, yet wins rave reviews. If desired, use 2 (32 ounce) cans of peaches in place of fresh peaches. If doing this, use peach syrup instead of water and then omit the white sugar from recipe. Also, yellow cake mix can be substituted for the white.

BONNIE'S SIMPLE PEACH COBBLER (EASY BATTER RECIPE)
I have been making this peach cobbler for a few years and it is delicious and easy to make. You can use strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and of course, peaches and nectarines. It takes about 10 minutes to get it in the oven. I serve it warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!

Steps:
- 1. MY KITCHEN FLOUR MIX: You will use ¾ cup of this mix for this recipe. Mix well before measuring. ½ cup Brown Rice Flour ½ cup Corn Starch ½ cup Tapioca Flour ½ cup Potato Starch 1 tablespoon protein whey isolate Mix well before using. Cook's Note: No need for xanthan gum. Use the organic milk + lemon juice for the gluten free version instead of butter milk in this recipe.)
- 2. Adjust the oven rack to upper-middle position and preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare your fruit and measure 2 full cups only. The batter will rise up through and around the fruit if it has room to do it. More fruit increases cooking time and it may not get done in the middle.
- 3. Put butter in an 8-inch square pan and set in oven to melt. Don't brown it. When butter has melted, remove pan from oven. Doubling the recipe: Instead of using an oblong pan to double the recipe, I use two 8-inch pans to make sure the center is done.
- 4. Whisk flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder and salt and nutmeg in a small bowl. Add milk, whisk to form a smooth batter. Pour batter into pan, then scatter fruit over the batter. Sprinkle the 1 tablespoon of sugar on top of the fruit.
- 5. Bake until batter browns and fruit bubbles, 50 to 60 minutes. At my altitude, it takes about 65 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.
- 6. HOW TO REMOVE SKINS FROM PEACHES: Wash the peaches. Put ice and water in a large bowl, set aside. Bring a large pot of water to boil. Add 5 tablespoons baking soda, a spoon at a time so it doesn't overflow, and drop the peaches in the boiling water for 30 seconds, remove them immediately (or you will cook them!) and dunk them in the ice water. When they are cool enough to handle pick up a peach and the skin will start to dissolve and melt off the peaches. You want firm, but ripe peaches for this recipe, and this technique will work perfectly.

CAMP FIRE EASY DUTCH OVEN PEACH COBBLER
We go camping a lot and this is one dessert that the kids (and adults) LOVE for me to make over the camp fire. This is not low fat or sugar free! It's super rich and buttery. I make this in an 8 quart cast iron dutch oven, no joke it makes a LOT. It's great with ice cream or whipped cream on top. I sort of adapted it from several cobbler recipes. Note: I've used fresh peaches too, about ten med peaches, just cook them over the stove after you peel and slice them, with the nutmeg and cinnamon 2 teaspoons of lemon juice and 1 1/2 cups sugar, until they are soft and make a syrup.

Steps:
- Put dutch oven over enough coals to heat it up, but not too much to make it smokin hot.
- Add butter sticks and melt. Remove dutch oven from heat for now.
- Make batter by mixing Bisquick, milk, sugar, 1 teaspoon each of the nutmeg and cinnamon.
- Spoon batter over the butter- DO NOT STIR TOGETHER.
- Open peaches (DON"T DISCARD THE SYRUP) and stir in rest of nutmeg and cinnamon to peach and syrup mixture.
- Spoon gently peach and syrup mixture over batter- don't worry the peaches will drop to bottom as the batter rises.
- Close lid, return the dutch oven to coals and put a few coals on top of lid, baking until crust has a nice golden and delicious look and toothpick comes out clean. Depending on the heat of your fire it should take 45- 90 minutes.
- You might want to check the cobbler a few times to make sure sure have just the right amount of coals -- it should not boil, but bubble gently.
- The cast iron will keep the cobbler warm while you eat. I reccommend that you eat warm, but cold is OK too.

Steps:
- 1. Mix 1 cup sugar, cinnamon, and peaches. Set aside. Melt butter in a 2 quart baking dish. In a medium bowl combine remaining ingredients and mix well to make a runny batter. Pour over butter in baking dish. Using a slotted spoon to drain peaches, top baking dish ingredients evenly with peaches. Bake 50-55 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve warm with ice cream or cold with whipped topping.
Tips:
- Choose ripe peaches: For the best flavor, use ripe, juicy peaches. You can tell if a peach is ripe by its color (it should be deep yellow or orange) and its smell (it should have a sweet, fragrant aroma).
- Use a variety of peaches: If you can, use a variety of peaches in your cobbler. This will give you a more complex flavor and texture.
- Don't overcook the peaches: The peaches should be cooked until they are soft but still hold their shape. If you overcook them, they will become mushy.
- Use a good quality butter: The butter is an important ingredient in the cobbler topping. Use a good quality butter that has a rich flavor.
- Make sure the cobbler is bubbling before serving: The cobbler is done when it is bubbling around the edges and the topping is golden brown.
Conclusion:
Peach cobbler is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its sweet, juicy peaches and crispy, buttery topping, it's sure to be a hit with everyone. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy dessert, give this peach cobbler recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
