PARMESAN CRESCENT ROLLS

Refrigerated crescent rolls are ok. But dip them in butter & parmesan before baking & they are amazing! This was an experiment I tried one evening. We loved it. I don't make them any other way now. If you like, you can also add about 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley to the parmesan mixture.

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 (8 ounce) tube refrigerated crescent dough
2 Tablespoons butter (melted)
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Garlic powder, to taste
Italian seasoning, to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Pour half of the melted butter into the bottom of a 8x8" baking pan.
  • Roll out the tube of dough and pinch all the seams together so that you have one sheet of dough (sometimes you can also buy a sheet of crescent dough - if your store has this available, I would totally recommend it!).
  • Sprinkle half of the Parmesan cheese all over the dough. Lightly sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning on the dough as desired.
  • Roll up the dough length-wise (like a long, skinny tube) and using a sharp knife, carefully slice the dough into 1" pieces. You should get 8-9 pieces.
  • Place the dough slices into the prepared pan. Using a basting brush, brush remaining butter on top of rolls. Sprinkle remaining Parmesan cheese on top of rolls as well.
  • Bake for 11-13 minutes or until the tops of the rolls start to turn golden.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh herbs, vegetables, and cheese will give your crescent rolls the best flavor.
  • Don't overwork the dough: Overworking the dough will make it tough. Just mix it until it comes together.
  • Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough will help it to rise and bake more evenly.
  • Brush the rolls with butter before baking: This will help them to brown and give them a flaky crust.
  • Bake the rolls until they are golden brown: Overbaking the rolls will make them dry.

Conclusion:

Parmesan crescent rolls are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack. They are perfect for parties, potlucks, or just a quick bite to eat. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can enjoy these tasty treats. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy recipe, give these Parmesan crescent rolls a try.
