Categories     Other Breakfast

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 4

grate rind of one orange
3/4 c sugar
1/2 c butter
2 can(s) refrigerated biscuits

Steps:

  • 1. Grate rind of one orange. In a small saucepan, add orange rind, sugar and butter. Mix and cook until thick and sugar has dissolved. Cool slightly.
  • 2. Take the two tubes of refrigerated biscuits and cut them into quarters. I use kitchen shears to make it easy. Place the quartered biscuits into a buttered loaf pan.
  • 3. Pour orange/sugar/butter mixture over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Dump out immediately onto aluminum foil or plate. Enjoy!

Tips:

  • Bring ingredients to room temperature: This helps the ingredients blend together more easily and creates a smoother batter.
  • Use fresh orange zest and juice: Fresh orange zest and juice provide the best flavor. If you don't have fresh oranges, you can use bottled orange juice, but the flavor will be less intense.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter can make the bread tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the bread until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean: This is the best way to ensure that the bread is cooked through.
  • Let the bread cool completely before slicing it: This will help the bread hold its shape and prevent it from crumbling.

Conclusion:

Orange bread is a delicious and easy-to-make quick bread that is perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert. With its moist crumb, sweet orange flavor, and crunchy orange glaze, this bread is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a special treat, give this orange bread recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
