Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 1/2 lbs london broil beef
1/2 bag baby carrots (small bag)
1 (19 ounce) can progresso beef gravy, with vidalia onions

  • Wash carrots and place on the bottom of crockpot.
  • Put London Broil on top of carrots.
  • Pour brown gravy& Vidalia onions over it.
  • Set crockpot temp to low.
  • Cook for 5-6 hours.
  • Wonderfully easy.
  • Great taste.
  • A cleaning tip: when you are ready for clean up, rinse out the crock, put dish detergent and water in the crock and set the temp on low for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Makes washing a breeze!

Tips:

  • Choose the Right Cut of Meat: Select a flank steak or top blade steak for a tender and flavorful London broil. Look for meat that is evenly thick and has good marbling.
  • Marinate the Steak: Marinating the steak in a flavorful mixture of olive oil, herbs, and spices helps tenderize and enhance its taste. You can use a simple marinade or experiment with different flavors to suit your preference.
  • Cook Over High Heat: London broil is best cooked over high heat to quickly sear the outside and create a flavorful crust while keeping the inside juicy and tender. Use a grill, grill pan, or skillet to achieve the desired sear.
  • Use a Meat Thermometer: To ensure that the steak is cooked to your desired doneness, use a meat thermometer. Insert the thermometer into the thickest part of the steak and cook until it reaches an internal temperature of 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare, 145°F (63°C) for medium, or 155°F (68°C) for medium-well.
  • Let the Steak Rest: After cooking, let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.
  • Slice Against the Grain: When slicing the steak, cut against the grain to make it easier to chew. Look for the natural lines running through the meat and slice perpendicular to them.

Conclusion:

London broil is a versatile and delicious dish that can be easily prepared at home. By following these tips and experimenting with different marinades and cooking methods, you can create a flavorful and tender London broil that will impress your family and friends. Whether you prefer a classic grilled steak or a more adventurous flavor profile, the possibilities are endless. So fire up your grill or skillet and enjoy the deliciousness of London broil!
