1 cup shredded monterey jack and cheddar cheese blend
2 cups lettuce
1/4 cup sliced green onion
1/4 cup sour cream

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Brown ground beef and drain.
  • Stir seasoning mix and water into the ground beef.

  • Place in oven for 15 minutes. Top with lettuce, green onions and sour cream just before serving.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of fillings: Don't be afraid to experiment with different fillings, such as ground beef, turkey, chicken, or black beans. You can also add vegetables, such as corn, peppers, or zucchini.
  • Make sure the taco seasoning is well-distributed: Mix the taco seasoning with the meat or other filling before adding it to the pie. This will ensure that the flavor is evenly distributed throughout the dish.
  • Don't overcook the meat: Overcooked meat will be tough and dry. Cook the meat until it is just cooked through, then remove it from the heat.
  • Layer the pie in the correct order: The order of the layers is important for the best flavor and texture. Start with a layer of meat, then add the beans, corn, and cheese. Top with the tortilla chips and then the sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.
  • Bake the pie until the cheese is melted and bubbly: This will take about 20 minutes. If the cheese starts to brown too quickly, cover the pie with foil.
