Time 27m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons corn syrup
2 1/3 cups quick-cooking oats

Steps:

  • Grease and 8×8 pan. In a pan combine the butter, brown sugar, honey, and corn syrup. Stir constantly over medium heat until butter melts, sugar dissolves, and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and add oats. Stir well until oats are well coated. Spread mixture into 8×8 or similar pan. Bake at 350 for 22 minutes. Cool 5 minutes and cut into bars. Cool for about 1 hour more in the pan and then remove bars from the pan.
  • If you wait to cut and remove the bars from the pan until the pan is completely cooled, the bars will be very hard to remove.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of oats. This will give your granola a more complex flavor and texture.
  • Toast the oats before baking. This will help them to become crispy and flavorful.
  • Add your favorite nuts and seeds. This is a great way to add some extra crunch and flavor to your granola.
  • Use a natural sweetener. Honey, maple syrup, or agave nectar are all good options.
  • Don't overbake the granola. It should be golden brown and crispy, but not hard.
  • Let the granola cool completely before storing it. This will help it to become crispy and keep its shape.

Conclusion:

Using the tips above, you can easily make delicious and healthy homemade granola. Granola is a great snack or breakfast option, and it's also a great way to use up leftover oats and nuts. With a little creativity, you can create your own unique granola recipe that everyone will love.
