Tips:
- Use fresh or frozen fruit: Fresh fruit is ideal for cobblers, but frozen fruit can also be used. If using frozen fruit, thaw it completely before adding it to the cobbler filling.
- Don't overfill the cobbler dish: The cobbler filling will expand as it bakes, so don't fill the dish more than two-thirds full.
- Use a variety of fruits: Cobblers can be made with any type of fruit, so feel free to mix and match your favorites. Some popular choices include apples, peaches, blueberries, and cherries.
- Add spices and extracts: Spices and extracts can help to enhance the flavor of the cobbler filling. Some common additions include cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and vanilla extract.
- Make sure the cobbler topping is golden brown: The cobbler topping should be golden brown and slightly crispy. If it's not, bake the cobbler for a few minutes longer.
