EASY FINGER PAINT

Easy Finger Paint image

All the recipes I found here were calling for either cornstarch(I was out) or glycerin (didn't have any). I found this on http://www.creativekidsathome.com/activities/activity_42.html. DD is working on it right now. With 1/3 cup of water and 1/3 cup of flour we got enough to make three colors, enough for one time painting. Update:it works! The painting I made was nice, no cracks. The one DD did, crinkled up the paper. She poured the paint on the paper and worked from there. I 'm happy with the result.

HOMEMADE FINGER PAINT

Homemade Finger Paint image

With this quick and easy finger paint your child can finger paint for just pennies. It's perfect for using on paper or in the bathtub. The dish soap makes this finger paint wash out of anything my girls have painted with it. Keeps for at least a week in airtight containers. A fun painting option is to cover a tray or cookie sheet with waxed paper and have your child spoon paint over it in different colors. Cover with another sheet of waxed paper. Your child can press down on the colors and watch them blend and move.

Tips:

  • Choose the right paint: For babies and toddlers, non-toxic finger paint is the best option. Look for paints that are specifically labeled for use by children and are free from harmful chemicals.
  • Prepare your workspace: Cover your work surface with a tablecloth or newspaper to protect it from paint spills. You may also want to wear a smock or apron to keep your clothes clean.
  • Use a variety of colors: Offer your child a variety of colors to choose from, so they can explore and experiment with different combinations.
  • Start with simple shapes: Encourage your child to start with simple shapes, such as lines, circles, and squares. As they become more comfortable, they can move on to more complex designs.
  • Be patient: Finger painting can be messy, so be patient with your child as they learn and explore. The process is more important than the end result.

Conclusion:

Finger painting is a fun and easy way for babies and toddlers to explore their creativity. It helps them develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and imagination. With a little preparation, you can set up a finger painting activity that your child will love. So gather your supplies, cover your work surface, and let the fun begin!
