SUPER EASY FRUIT COCKTAIL COBBLER CAKE

Super Easy Fruit Cocktail Cobbler Cake image

This is a super quick, super easy dessert to make. Three ingredients and two minutes of prep time is all it takes. Doesn't get any easier. I've used other items instead of fruit cocktail like canned pears, canned blueberries or canned cherries. I've also sprinkled coconut on top of the cake before baking which adds great flavor. Serve plain, with Cool Whip or your favorite ice cream.

Time 47m

Yield 8-10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

2 (15 ounce) cans fruit cocktail (I use Del Monte Carb Clever to cut down on some of the sugar)
1 (18 ounce) box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Steps:

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Melt one stick of butter in a microwave safe dish for 1 minute 40 seconds on 50% power.
  • Pour entire contents of fruit cocktail cans (juice and all) into a 8 X 11 glass pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Spread fruit cocktail evenly on bottom of pan.
  • Sprinkle box of yellow cake mix, evenly, over top of fruit cocktail. Do NOT mix cake mix and fruit cocktail. Use the back of a spoon to smooth out cake mix.
  • Drizzle melted butter over top of cake mix. (Cake mix does not need to be completely covered in butter).
  • (Optional - sprinkle a small amount coconut on top of the cake before baking, photo shows it with coconut).
  • Bake on 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

EASY, FOOLPROOF COBBLER (FOR ANY FRUIT)

Easy, Foolproof Cobbler (For Any Fruit) image

Make and share this Easy, Foolproof Cobbler (For Any Fruit) recipe from Food.com.

Provided by mewack

Categories     Dessert

Time 1h5m

Yield 9 pieces, 9 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar, plus a bit more for sprinkling
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
4 cups fresh fruit, peeled and cut into chunks

Steps:

  • Combine the flour and sugar.
  • Add the butter, mixing as you go, until the mixture forms a soft dough. It can be slightly crumbly, but you want it to hold together when you squeeze it.
  • Spray a 9x9 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Put the fruit in the dish - you will probably need about 4 cups of berries or chopped fruit. You want to create a thick layer that comes about two inches up the sides.
  • If the fruit is particularly tart, sprinkle with a light layer of sugar. If the fruit is soft and sweet, you don't need it.
  • Take the dough by the handful and pat it into disks that are about 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch thick. Lay them on top of the fruit, continuing with the patties, until it is covered.
  • Bake the cobbler at 350 degrees for about 45-50 minutes, until the crust is light golden brown. Let cool slightly, then serve with ice cream.

EASY EASY FRUIT COBBLER

EASY EASY Fruit Cobbler image

My grandmother made this for us right after our first child was born, and it was soooo good! So of course, I asked her how she made it, and I couldn't believe how easy it was! So, I just had to share. You can use any fruit pie filling that tickles your fancy! We had it with peach. (originally)

Provided by Julie Hatley

Categories     Fruit Desserts

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 box yellow cake mix (any brand)
1 stick butter or margarine
1 can(s) your fave canned fruit pie filling

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease or spray a 9 x 9 baking dish. Pour the box of cake mix (dry) on the bottom of the baking dish.
  • 2. Cut the butter/margarine into chunks and lay them evenly across the entire bottom of the dish.
  • 3. Gently pour and spread your pie filling across the top, careful not to move around the cake mix.
  • 4. Bake about 10 minutes. You'll see the cake mix coming up from the bottom, forming a crust on top. The butter will cause it to brown. Once it has browned to your liking, take it out-cool enough to eat, add some whipped cream or vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
  • 5. **I've never tried to use a sugar free/low sugar version of this, although I SHOULD! But all the ingredients, except the butter of course, are available in those varieties. I cannot imagine why it wouldn't work. If you try it, please let me know what you think! It's been a while since making this recipe, so if anyone has any suggestions, bring 'em on!

Tips

  • Use fresh, ripe fruit for the best flavor. If using frozen fruit, thaw it completely before using.
  • If you don't have a 9x13 inch baking dish, you can use an 8x8 inch dish. Just reduce the amount of fruit and cobbler topping by half.
  • You can use any type of fruit you like in this cobbler. Some popular choices include apples, blueberries, peaches, and strawberries.
  • If you want a sweeter cobbler, add more sugar to the fruit filling. You can also add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for extra flavor.
  • For a crispier cobbler topping, use cold butter. You can also add a tablespoon of oats or chopped nuts to the topping for extra crunch.
  • Serve the cobbler warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Conclusion

Fruit cobbler is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its simple ingredients and endless variations, there's a fruit cobbler recipe out there for everyone. So next time you're looking for a sweet treat, give fruit cobbler a try. You won't be disappointed.
